Water Powered Car Innovators
There are several examples throughout history of extraordinary inventions being suppressed by governments and the media. A prime example of this is water powered car technology. Here are a few examples of people who have pioneered this technology at different times during the last 200 years. Yes, 200 years is correct as the first time this technology was seen was in the year 1805 and patented in 1807 by Swiss inventor Isaac de Rivaz.
Many names will be added to this list over time, if you do not see a deserving name it will be likely added in the near future
Isaac de Rivaz
In 1805, Swiss inventor Isaac de Rivaz was the first to make a car powered by an internal combustion engine. But what did the engine use as fuel, since gasoline wasn't invented till the 1870s? Well the first Internal combustion engine ran on the hydrogen extracted from water That's right, a process that we can't seem to duplicate now, was done on a wooden-bodied car 200 hundred years ago. Its a bit odd is it not that after 200 years of technological advancement water powered cars have not made it into the main stream of auto manufacturing.
NB. This vehicle was never popular due to the cumbersome nature of its operating procedure.
Jean Joseph Etienne Lenoir
Jean Joseph Etienne Lenoir was a great Belgian inventor whose accomplishments include improving the design of internal combustion engines.
In 1860 he built an ICE car that turned water into combustible hydrogen fuel by electrolysis, as it went down the road! Yes, a smog-free vehicle that used a renewable fuel was built way back in 1860!
Francisco Pacheco

Francisco Pacheco, a Bolivian inventor, was invited to come to the USA in 1943 by the U.S. Vice-President. Why? To show off his new invention: a device that turns sea water into clean, combustible hydrogen on demand. He used it to power just about anything. A chapter of the book "Suppressed Inventions and Other Discoveries" is dedicated to his work. He patented two versions of his invention, demonstrated them publicly, won national inventor awards, but never found a receptive ear in the circles of power that he thought would enthusiastically embrace his work! He died, and his inventions died with him.

In 1980, Pacheco was contacted by 60 Minutes, who promised to help him show his invention to millions of Americans. The 60 Minutes crew arrived in West Milford and taped the generator producing hydrogen fuel for a Bunsen burner, and for a torch which cut through a 3/4-inch-thick steel plate (indoors). The hydrogen gas inflated a balloon, and produced energy to run an electric motor.
The last of his demonstrations involved running a lawnmower with the fuel. Because he was going to be on television, at the last minute, he decided to buy a new one, and did not have time to test it out. The engine choked due to the excessive amount of gas being produced but the 60 Minutes crew assured him that they had enough material to present an entire show with the successful demonstrations. Later when the show was aired, Pacheco was devastated as the show had a completely different focus. The only demonstration aired was the lawn mower, and it was used to provide an example of an independent inventor's non-working invention.

Charles Henry Garrett
Inventor Charles Henry Garrett was the son of an Irish clergyman who emigrated to Canada to share the good news with native Americans. After Henry's birth, the family moved to Dallas, Texas. Henry grew up to be an electrician and inventor. He started a radio station for the Dallas area and created the first emergency dispatch system. Along with his son, Charles, he was the first to develop a carburetor (electrolytic carburetor) for the on-demand production of hydrogen and oxygen from water! His invention was patented, demonstrated in public, and described in the newspaper. Then it disappeared.
Daniel Dingel
Daniel Dingel is a Philippino engineer who has for many years been driving around a car powered by water! He, like many others before him, devised a chamber that breaks apart the water molecule to produce combustible hydrogen. As of this writing, the device is not being offered to the public. Mr. Dingel claimed in a video interview that the IMF and World Bank have hindered his device from being marketed. A Yahoo chatgroup sponsored by a Dingel acquaintance encourages discussion of the technology, without revealing it's secrets.
Dr. Andrija Puharich
Another variation on the water-fuel theme relies more on vibrations than on chemistry. At more than 100 per cent efficiency, such a system produces hydrogen gas and oxygen from ordinary water at normal temperatures and pressure.
One example is U.S. Patent 4,394,230, Method and Apparatus for Splitting Water Molecules, issued to Dr. Andrija Puharich in 1983. His method made complex electrical wave forms resonate water molecules and shatter them, which freed hydrogen and oxygen. By using Tesla's understanding of electrical resonance, Puharich was able to split the water molecule much more efficiently than the brute-force electrolysis that every physics student knows. (Resonance is what shatters a crystal goblet when an opera singer hits the exact note which vibrates with the crystal's molecular structure.)
Puharich reportedly drove his mobile home using only water as fuel for several hundred thousand kilometers in trips across North America. In a high Mexican mountain pass he had to make do with snow for fuel. Splitting water molecules as needed in a vehicle is more revolutionary than the hydrogen-powered systems with which every large auto manufacturer has dallied. With the on-demand system, you don't need to carry a tank full of hydrogen fuel which could be a potential bomb.
Herman Anderson
Herman Anderson was a Tennessee inventor. In the 1980's he began working on the challenge of turning water into combustible fuel for a car.
A video shows how he built a round vertical drum electrolysis chamber out of a 3" slice of 14" OD PVC pipe, with a 13" OD nickel-plated steel anode and cathode spaced 3" apart. Using both 22 amp DC electrolysis and a pulsed, standing wave 70,000 volt corona discharge, de-ionized water with KOH (pH 12) was turned into deuterium and oxygen gas, mixed with air and micron-sized water vapor, and inducted into the engine!
Archie Blue

Archie Blue, from Christ Church, New Zealand, was a competent inventor. In the 1970s he wanted to find a way to provide heat or cooking fuel for a camper by converting water into hydrogen and oxygen. He ended up with a device that produced enough gas to run a motor vehicle, using a 12V air pump to force air through his electrolyzer. He patented it and demonstrated it before experts. For this he was featured in the book "Suppressed Inventions & Other Discoveries". He died of old age, and as of the time of this writing, his invention has never been marketed.
Stanley Meyer
Stanley Meyer was a Grove City, Ohio, inventor whose life's work became the development of a water fuel cell, that is, a chamber that can "tickle" water with very little electric current to produce non-polluting and combustible hydrogen and oxygen. Along with his twin brother Stephen, he also showed how the gas could be adapted to all of the most common uses currently using fossil fuels. he designed a dune buggy with onboard electrolysis that ran 100 miles to the gallon. His buggy was aired on a news cast from his home town of Grove City, ohio in 1998.
He was concerned about greenhouse gas emissions as well as the earth's depleted atmospheric oxygen levels. His invention would help, and he tried to keep selfish interests from stopping it. He did not succeed.
John Kanzius
An engineer in Florida by the name of John Kanzius conceptualized aprocess to inject nano sized bits of metal into the human body which would embed themselves only in cancer cells, then zap them with radio waves which would kill them - leaving only the healthy tissue. As if curing cancer isn’t enough, someone heard about his experiments and decided to ask if the machine might work for desalinating salt water. When John tried it he discovered something much more significant. The process caused a reaction which freed up hydrogen molecules, allowing the water to burn.
Considering that salt water is the most abundant resource on the planet, John may have just accidentally discovered as others before him the holy grail of energy production. A practically free replacement for oil, gas, coal and any other harmful fuel.
Denny Klein
Denny Klein, an inventor from Florida runs his 1994 Ford Escort, labeled “Hydrogen Technology”, on a combination of water and gasoline, The prototype is a hybrid car, shown to drive 100 miles using 4 ounces of water, without losing power.
